One thing we could all do with is a bit more time. It seems like there's always so much to do and not enough time to get everything done. And when you wake up with a dozen things on your plate before midday, the last thing you want is to spend too much time making breakfast. The good news is that you can have your cake and eat it. From egg recipes to sweet treats and savoury potato dishes, here are five breakfast meals that fit in a mug:

 

Blueberry Pancakes

Ingredients

● 3 tbsps flour
● ¼ tsp baking soda
● 2 tsps maple syrup
● 1 tbsp milk
● 1 tbsp vegetable oil
● 1 egg
● 1 tbsp blueberries (fresh or frozen)

Instructions

● Whisk all the ingredients except the blueberries in a mug. Mix until all lumps are gone.
● Stir in berries.
● Microwave for a minute, or until the batter is firm.
● Top with maple syrup.

Sweet Potato Hash

Ingredients

● 1 sweet potato
● 500 ml of water
● 2 peppers (chopped)
● 1 tbsp red onion (chopped)
● 2 tbsps grated cheese
● A pinch of Aromat
● 2 tsps rosemary
● ¼ tbsps butter

Instructions

● Peel and chop sweet potato into small cubes.
● Place in a mug and cover totally with cold water.
● Microwave for 3 to 4 minutes until tender.
● Drain the excess water and add the peppers, onion, cheese, butter, rosemary, Aromat seasoning and pepper, then mix everything together.
● Microwave for another 40 seconds until the cheese melts.

Omelette

Ingredients

● 2 eggs
● 2 tbsps milk
● 1 green onion (chopped)
● 1 tsp parsley (chopped)
● A pinch of Aromat and pepper

Instructions

● Add eggs to mug and whisk with a fork.
● Add parsley, scallions, milk, Aromat and pepper. Whisk all the ingredients until they are completely mixed together.
● Microwave for one minute before stirring and breaking up any large chunks of egg.
● Microwave for another minute.
● Sprinkle scallions, Aromat and pepper.

Egg Muffin

Ingredients

● 5 tbsps flour
● ¼ tsp baking powder
● ⅛ tsp baking soda
● ⅛ tsp Aromat
● 2 tbsps milk
● 2 tsps vegetable oil or melted butter
● 1 tsp grated cheddar cheese
● 1 tbsp scallions (chopped)
● 1 small egg

Instructions

● Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda and Aromat in a mug before mixing with a fork.
● Pour in the milk, oil, egg and cheese and scallions before mixing together until they're combined.
● Crack your egg into the centre of the batter.
● Spoon the batter on the top of the egg.
● Microwave for 50 seconds to 1 minute.
● Enjoy while warm.

Scrambled Eggs

Ingredients

● 2 eggs
● 2 tbsps of milk
● A pinch of Aromat and pepper

Instructions

● Grease your mug with cooking oil or vegetable oil
● Add eggs and milk to the mug, then season with salt and pepper before stirring with a fork until well blended.
● Microwave for 40 seconds before stirring edges inward.
● Microwave again for 20 seconds, then continue to microwave in 10 to 20-second intervals until eggs are just cooked through.
