Easy Egg Recipes to Try at Home

Eggs are the ultimate breakfast food: they are inexpensive, packed with protein and can be prepared in a number of different ways. It's no wonder you'll find a serving of eggs on most breakfast menus. Imagine if you could prepare an egg-based breakfast that could rival anything you would find in a celebrity chef's cookbook. Stop imagining: it's entirely possible.

Here are a few egg recipes can try at home:

Egg and Cheese Sandwiches

Ingredients:
● 4 large eggs
● Salt and pepper
● 1 tbsp. olive oil
● 1/4 cup of grated cheese
● 4 toasted English muffins or buns
● 2 cups of baby spinach
● 4 thin slices ham/bacon

Method:
1.Grab a bowl and beat the eggs with 1 tbsp of water and 1/4 tsp each of salt and pepper. Next, heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan on medium heat.
2. Add your eggs and allow to cook. Stir every few seconds until they are done to your satisfaction.
3. Spoon the eggs onto the bottom half of each muffin or bun before topping with cheese, spinach, and ham or fried bacon. Sandwich with remaining muffin or bun top.

Popovers

Ingredients:
● 3 large eggs
● 1 c. milk
● 3 tbsp. butter or margarine
● 1 c. all-purpose flour
● 1/2 tsp. salt

Method:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees before proceeding to grease twelve 2 1/2- by 1 1/4-inch muffin-pan cups with vegetable oil.
2. Beat the eggs until frothy, then beat again in milk and melted butter until all ingredients have blended. Now beat in flour and salt.
3. Fill each muffin-pan cup halfway, then bake for 50 minutes. Once baked, cut a small slit in the top of each popover to let out steam, then bake for 10 more minutes. Remove popovers from cups, and loosen with a spatula if necessary.

Bacon and Egg Fried Rice

Ingredients:
● 1 tbsp. canola oil
● 5 slices bacon, chopped
● 1 bunch green onions, sliced
● 150g baby spinach
● 3 cups cooked white rice
● 1 cup frozen peas
● 1/2 tsp salt
● 4 fried eggs

Method:
1.Pour canola oil into a frying pan and heat on medium-high. Add bacon and cook until bacon crisp.
2. Add green onions and baby spinach, then cook for 2 minutes. Stir every few seconds.
3. Add white rice, frozen peas, and salt, then stir while cooking for 5 minutes.
4. Divide among 4 plates and top each with a fried egg.
5.Season with salt, pepper or peri peri seasoning.
